Soaking up water in a sit on top kayak

March 5th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Kayak Accessories

One of the things I hate about pulling my boat out of the water is getting all the condensation and leak water out of my kayak. I’ve found these neat little light weight absorbers at Picket Fence that will help immensely in stopping this task.Kayak Water AbsorberThey come in a 4 pack for $14.95, and the weight will barely be noticeable. Simply pop a port on your sit on top, and slide a few in. I do one in the front, and one in the back. They soak up all the moisture, then you can take them out of the boat and dry them out.You can purchase them at Picket Fence.

Good News on the Ice Storm

For those of us that like to paddle Black Creek here in the Churchville/Wheatland area, good news came this morning in the form of a very light ice storm as opposed to the big one they were predicting. The Creek had enough portages last year, and last nights icing probably won’t add too many large downed trees and branches to that mix.

So, hopefully business as usual in a few weeks. I’ll try to get out and check this weekend to see how bad it looks.
