East Koy Creek 4 18 2008

Fished in Gainesville on Friday, since the Oatka was elbow to elbow in the trail section. (Amazing what 70 degree temperatures combined with the kids being off from school will do.)

The water in East Koy was in great shape, and there was bug activity for sure. Not heavy hatches or anything, but they were moving around. I had two nice strikes drifting an American march Brown just under the surface below me, but both fish missed.

It’s kind of a phone booth in that section (to borrow a Richard Brautigan term), but roll casting and paying close attention gets the job done. I was only able to spend a few hours on the water, as work still takes precedence, but it was very nice to be back out there.
