Thanks for dropping by, Taylor.

We are going to try to get some other detailed information on the species found in Western New York. Especially pike, since they're my favorite.

I appreciate your info you posted here. I'm going to look into that a bit, because it's the first of heard of the ethonol causing pike to fail in replacing their teeth. If that's true, we need to do something about it for sure.

And don't get me started on jet skiers :)

I have fished Conesus Lake for many years now, This is the first year lack of Northern Pike is due to teeth regeneration. Some say its due to spring ethenol corn growers from the north end. Lake seems to be clowdy green, but still multiple people still say its from teeth regeneration. Did you know that pike during this period tend to rise above the surface without feeding. Many jet skiers and motor boats do not realize they hit Pike during this period. I am learning more and more about this period if it is true. I was hoping your WEB site might give me more information. Kayak fishermen seem to have more detailed and up close information than power boaters. Thank you very much

Very interested in hearing more. I've been thinking about doing something similar, but it sounds like you are well on your way.

Kevin:

I know what you mean! I was thinking the same thing. I'm near-obsessing about getting out on the water - ok... I'm full-bore obsessing!

I've enjoyed reading through your blog. I'm in Livonia and have been kayak fishing for the past five years - mostly on Hemlock, Canadice, and Conesus. I find myself always wishing that I was in my kayak whenever I go out fishing on my buddy's motorboat. I can't help it. I love this sport!

I've been tossing around the idea of starting a very informal kayak fishing club. I see people here and there, but it would be great to connect folks for fishing trips and to share tips particular to kayak fishing.

I'm going to be announcing an organizational meeting next month at the Rochester Sportsmen Show next month. Would you (or any of your readers) be interested in helping to get this going? If so, do not hesitate to email me.

Cheers,

-Paul
