…Today it equaled this…

Ice-out Finger Lake 3lb smallie.

Ice-out Finger Lake 3lb smallie.

My son caught this 3lb smallie today. It put up a good fight despite the water being so cold. This lake was still mostly under ice last weekend and was 42 degrees F today. He was pretty happy with his first bass of the year!

Seriously, that was the plan. We were both tuckered out after hours beating the water at Mendon Ponds. However, after some food and a quick nap, a call from a friend woke us up and we decided to go back out.

Wow – Congratulations to your son! Very nice first bass for the year. Hope it's a pre-cursor for great things during the rest of the year! :-)
