NY Imposing an Internet Tax

May 15th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in NY, Uncategorized

As if we NY fishermen didn’t have enough to worry about (what with gas prices, and the rise in related goods and services costs because of it), your beloved state is looking at levying sales tax on all your internet purchases if the comapny you’re buying from has even a theoretical presence in New York.

Write your representative.  Quickly.

Found this little feeder stream above the dam in Churchville. I was surprised yesterday that I still don’t see nesting panfish or bass around yet. Might be a touch to early still?

Pike Season

April 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Took a quick drive up to the Black Creek at the Genny Sunday morning. Water is looking good.
This means I need to UV proof the kayak this week, and get the gear in order, because Pike Season starts Saturday!

You’ll see me skimming up and down the creek either at Churchville or at the creek mouth. I haven’t decided yet.

Scientific Anglers: The only way to fly

April 26th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Bumped into this little snippet at MidCurrent.com.  It’s in reference to Scientific Anglers, and their amazing Scientific Anglersability to make a fly line for darn near every fly fishing scenario.

When Bruce Richards told me last year that Scientific Anglers builds thousands of different types of fly lines, my jaw just about hit the floor. But as he explained it, there is a clear market need for specialty lines of all different tapers, lengths and weights, and SA was in a position to build them, so why not?

More here.

Or, to find out about Scientific Anglers lines, or to buy some, check out Scientific Anglers at Bass ProShops.
