These hybrid deep sea fly rods use S-Glass for heavy lifting in combination with IM6 graphite for exceptional casting ablility. If you’re chasing marlin, tuna, or sailfish these Temple Fork Fly Rods will survive the battle. The blank goes through the TiCr coating process twice, adding power and durability. Components include uplocking reel seats, flor grade cork, a full wells grip with a fore grip and a unique blue granite finish. The Light Duty rod consists of snake and titanium-oxide stripping guides; the Heavy Duty rod has aluminum oxide inserts on all guides including the tip tops.

Bottom line is this- The new ZXL Rods cast like butter, but somehow develop enough line speed to get the job done effortlessly. We were worried that the SLT 383-4, one of our staff’s favorite Wisconsin spring creek rods, would not have a worthy successor. We worry too much around here. Holy Smokes?!? "This can’t be a Winston rod," I remember thinking the first time I cast one. "Yes, it’s light- yes, it’s beautiful, but this thing flat out CASTS!!!" The 5 & 6 WTS can be described as faster action than you would expect from Winston, but still pretty darn sensitive in close. Great rods! The 7 WT really seems to quickly head off firmly into the realm a fast action rod land. The 8-10 WTS- They are REALLY REALLY powerful, fast fast rods. Don’t think pool cue stiff- think responsive, super fast yet sensitive. (All of these rods cast the Sharkskin lines, Rio Grand and GPX lines flawlessly!)
