Mendon Ponds this Saturday

This just went out to our members… never too late to join… and it’s free!

1st Ever WNY Kayak Fishing Association Event!

Date: Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Time: 10am on.
Place: Mendon Ponds Park

First off, we wanted to thank everyone who attended the Meet and Greet at Gander Mountain last Friday. It was exciting to see so many folks interested in the sport, and willing to make some new friends. In light of that, we want to invite all of you to dust off your kayaks and hit the water at Mendon Ponds Park this Saturday.

Here’s a map: Click here to view

It will be an informal event, just a group of new friends getting together to kayak fish, and if you can’t be there right at 10, we’ll be easy enough to find out on the water. And, there will be a small prize for the biggest black bass caught and released that day! Weather is supposed to be decent, with highs approaching 50, and a chance of some light rain. In other words, good fishing weather. We recommend you bring the following:

• Kayak, paddle, whistle and a PFD
• NY Fishing License
• Bass gear and tackle
• Waders or water proof pants
• A wading jacket or other water proof top
• A good, perhaps wacky, hat
• A big smile and a willingness to learn and share

No RSVP is necessary, but if you’re so inclined, give us a heads up as to whether or not you will attend, so we can keep an eye out for you!
